Having a mobile-friendly (responsive website) site will boost your search ranking. Mobile-friendly sites dominate the top positions in Google search results. Websites which are mobile-friendly, load fast and performs better on Mobile Devices and smartphones will rank better than the websites which don’t.
PageSpeed will matter, the faster it loads at the end users device the better it is. Double-check your mobile updates by testing through Google Webmaster Tools with Fetch as Google.
Google announced their mobile-friendly label become a ranking factor starting April 21, 2015. In the USA, 94% of people with smartphones search for local information on their phones. Interestingly, 77% of mobile searches occur at home or at work, places where desktop computers are likely to be present.
Content is king. That is as true for e-commerce as it is for search or even social. Content For Users, By Users (Reviews, Comments, Feedback etc.). Make sure search engines, robots, spiders can crawl them.
The principles of social listening and apply them to e-commerce in several ways. It must be based on actual consumer insights instead of product claims.
Discoverability - Search is the primary method of discovery today, so for your content to float to the top, it needs to be written using your audience’s language, using their voice, words and language. It’s nice that the brand sees its new electric toothbrush as a “dental cleansing system” but 99% of consumers are looking for “electric toothbrushes”.
